Sicily. Syracuse. Hiketas II (287-278 BC). AE Litra. Struck circa 282-278 BC. Obv. ΔΙΟΣ ΕΛΛΑΝΙΟΥ. Head of Zeus Hellanios left, wearing laurel wreath. Rev. ΣΥΡΑΚΟΣΙΩΝ. Eagle, wings spread, standing left on thunderbolt; star to left. HGC 2 1448; CNS II 156; SNG ANS 818. AE. 11.90 g. 22.00 mm. Lovely brown patina. Good VF.
