Ostrogothic Italy. Theoderic (493-526). AR Quarter Siliqua in the name of Justin I, Ravenna mint, c. 518-526 AD. Obv. DN IVSTI NVS AVG. Pearl-diademed and cuirassed bust right. Rev. Monogram of Theoderic; cross above; all within wreath. COI 55; Ranieri 258; MEC 1, 121 (Ravenna or Milan); MIB 49 (Rome). AR. 0.72 g. 11.50 mm. RRR. Extremely rare, sharply struck with a bold portrait. Lovely even grey tone, underlying luster; minor graffiti on reverse. EF/About EF.
