Julia Mamaea, mother of Severus Alexander (died 235 AD). AE Sestertius. Rome mint, struck under Severus Alexander, c. 228 AD. Obv. IVLIA MAMAEA AVGVSTA. Diademed and draped bust right. Rev. FELICITAS PVBLICA. Felicitas standing facing, head to left and leg crossed, holding caducaeus and leaning on column; S-C across fields. RIC IV (Sev. Alex.) 676; C. 21. AE. 21.42 g. 30.00 mm. Lovely brown patina with reddish hues and earthy deposits on reverse. Mesmerizing portrait. About EF/Good VF.
