Corn-ear (first) series. AE Semuncia. Sicily, 214-212 BC. Obv. Head of Mercury right, wearing winged petasus. Rev. Prow right; above, corn-ear and ROMA. Cr. 42/5=72/10. AE. 3.73 g. 15.00 mm. Superb Semuncia, struck from fresh and masterfully engraved dies. Enchanting warm brown patina. EF.
