Magnentius (350-353). AE 22 mm. Ambianum (Amiens) mint. Struck January-August AD 353. Obv. Bareheaded, draped and cuirassed bust right; traces of A behind. Rev. Large Christogram; star to left; [in exergue, AMB?]. RIC VIII -; cf. 45. AE. 2.97 g. 22.00 mm. Apparently unpublished of such light weight. The traces of letter A behind bust probably depend on the cancellation of the same letter on a previous die, reused for this issue which did not include the presence of letters on obverse. Wonderful untouched olive-green patina. EF.
