Greek Italy. Southern Apulia, Tarentum. AR Nomos, c. 240-228 BC. Philokles magistrate. Obv. Nude youth, crowning horse, on horse walking right; monogram to left and right; below, ΦIΛO/KΛHΣ in two lines above dolphin right. Rev. Phalanthos, holding rhyton and trident, on dolphin left; two amphoras to right, TA-PAΣ below. HN Italy 1057; Vlasto 950. AR. 6.66 g. 21.50 mm. Lustrous and lightly toned. Perfectly centred. Minor traces of oxidation. EF.
