Justinian I (527-565). AE 40 Nummi – Follis. Constantinople mint, 2nd officina. Dated RY 12 (538/9). Obv. D N IVSTINI ANVS P P AVC. Helmeted and cuirassed bust facing, holding globus cruciger and shield with figure on horseback riding right; cross to right. Rev. Large M (mark of value); A/N/N/O to left, cross above, XII (date) to right, B below; in exergue, CON. D.O. 37b; MIB 95a; Sear 163. AE. 23.39 g. 42.50 mm. Brown patina with turquoise green glazing. Good VF.
