Constans II (641-668). AV Solidus, Constantinople mint, c. 661- 663 AD. Obv. ∂ N COSτ AN. Draped busts of Constans, wearing plumed helmet and long beard, and Constantine, wearing crown, facing; cross above. Rev. VICTORIA A VGЧ Θ. Cross potent set on three steps; to left and right, full-length figures of Heraclius and Tiberius standing facing, each holding cruciform sceptre; beneath, CONOBC. D.O. 34; Sear 968. AV. 4.37 g. 19.50 mm. R. Rare variety. Superb, well centred and brilliant, with underlying luster. Insignificant almost invisible graffito on reverse left field,. EF.
