Greek Italy. Southern Apulia, Tarentum. AR Diobol, c. 325-280 BC. Obv. Helmeted head of Athena right, helmet decorated with Scylla hurling stone. Rev. Herakles crouching right, strangling the Nemean Lion; on the Lion’s back, owl standing left, head facing; [club to left]. HN Italy 976; Vlasto 1322/4; SNG ANS 1413. AR. 1.40 g. 12.50 mm. R. From a slightly worn reverse die. Nice old cabinet tone. About EF.
