Severus Alexander (222-235 AD). AR Denarius, 231-235 AD. Obv. IMP ALEXANDER PIVS AVG. Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right. Rev. MARS VLTOR. Mars advancing right, holding spear and shield. RIC IV 246. AR. 3.37 g. 21.00 mm. A superb example, perfectly centred on a broad flan, brilliant, with underlying luster and virtually as struck. About FDC.
