Septimius Severus (193-211). AR Denarius, Rome mint, 198 AD. Obv. L SEPT SEV AVG IMP XI PART MAX. Laureate head right. Rev. FORTVNAE AVGG. Fortuna standing facing, foot on prow, head right, holding cornucopiae and rudder on globe. RIC IV 126a. AR. 3.64 g. 18.00 mm. Sharply struck, perfectly centred and superb. Lovely cabinet tone, with reddish spots. EF.
