Greek Italy. Southern Apulia, Tarentum. AR Nomos, c. 325-281 BC. Obv. Warrior, holding shield and two spears, preparing to cast a third, on horseback right; ΣA below. Rev. Phalanthos riding dolphin left, holding distaff; TAPAΣ behind, prow below. HN Italy 934; Vlasto 585. AR. 7.78 g. 20.50 mm. A choice example, well centred, brilliant and superb. EF.
