Caracalla (198-217). AE Sestertius, Rome mint, 215 AD. Obv. M AVREL ANTONINVS PIVS AVG GERM. Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, seen from back. Rev. P M TR P XVIII IMP III COS IIII P P S C. Aesculapius standing facing, head left, holding serpent-wreathed wand, Telesphorus at left looking right, globe at right. RIC IV 538b; C. 329. AE. 19.92 g. 31.00 mm. Scarce. A very attractive example of this scarce and interesting issue. Glossy brown patina. Laquered. Good VF.
