Julia Soemias, mother of Elagabalus (died 222 AD). AR Denarius, Rome mint. IVLIA SOAEMIAS AVG. Draped bust right. / VENVS CAELESTIS. Venus Caelestis standing left, holding apple and sceptre; in left field, star. RIC IV (Elagab.) 241; C. 8. AR. 3.09 g. 20.00 mm. A superb portrait. Nicely toned. Reverse struck with slightly rusty die, otherwise, EF/About EF.
