Greek Asia. Phoenicia - Arados. AR Tetradrachm, dated 196 (64-63 BC). D/ Turreted, veiled and draped bust of Syche right. R/ APAΔIΩN. Nike standing left, holding aplustre and palm; in left field G (retrograde P) P (date) above Phoenician letter above AN; all within wreath. Duyrat 3923; Rouvier 325 a; BMC 272. AR. g. 15.36 mm. 26.00 A choice example, well centred, brilliant and superb. Lovely light iridescent tone. insignificant hair-line flan crack at nine o'clock, otherwise about EF/EF.
