DAUNIAN BICHROME KYATHOS WITH GEOMETRIC DECORATION

Ca. 600 - 400 BC. A bichrome terracotta kyathos with geometric decoration and a round, shallow bowl with painted thick bands of black and red encircling its interior and exterior. The strap handle has a stylised geometric motif on the surface. In tondo is a squared bichrome decoration. Size: 170mm x 145mm; Weight: 325g Provenance: Property of a central London gallery, acquired on the US art market; Ex. Paul S. Forbes collection, Maryland, acquired in the 1970s-1980s.
