EGYPTIAN BRONZE DAGGER WITH GOLD POMMEL

New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC. A cast-bronze dagger blade with a shallow midrib bearing several fullers, a tip, and sharpened edges. The tang is inserted into a wooden handle and connected to a gold pommel, providing an example of how Egyptian weapon handles would have looked. Size: 270mm x 40mm; Weight: 90g Provenance: Property of a European collector, acquired on the Austrian art market, 1980s.
