ROMAN-EGYPTIAN BRONZE PYXIS WITH COBRA WITH PHARAOH HEAD

Ca. 30 BC - AD 200 An amazing Roman-Egyptian bronze pyxis, with a cylindrical body seated on a discoid everted base. The lid has a double edge rim and the top has a moulded bronze statuette of a cobra with the head of a pharaoh.
Size: 100mm x 65mm; Weight: 330g
Provenance: Property of an Oxfordshire art professional; previously in an old Canadian collection of F. N., Ontario, formed in the 1980s.This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
