A COLLECTION OF FIVE GREEN FAIENCE USHABTI
Late Period and Ptolemaic Period, Ca. 664 - 30 BC A collection of five faience shabtis covered in layers of reflective pale green-hued glaze. The figures stand in mummiform with fused legs and crossed hands. They have slender eyes with elongated outer canthi, small noses, smooth cheeks and rounded chins. Incised hieroglyphic inscriptions are enclosed on the back pillar.

Provenance: Property of a London gallery; previously acquired at the art market in Vienna; formerly in an Austrian collection formed prior to 2000. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
