GANDHARAN BRONZE STATUETTE OF HERCULES
Ca. AD 100 - 300 A solid cast-bronze statuette depicting Hercules standing in a counterpoise position atop a cylindrical base. Hercules has a lion's skin draped over his left shoulder and his right arm is extended to rest upon his club. The iconography of this bronze references to the legendary hero's first labour, the slaying of the Nemean Lion.
