INDUS VALLEY TERRACOTTA JAR WITH GEOMETRIC MOTIF
Ca. 3000 - 2500 BC A massive Indus Valley pottery jar with a spherical body and gently carinated midsection, rounded shoulders and a thin rim. The top half of the exterior of the jar is adorned with geometric decoration depicted in black pigment, whilst the lower half is left undecorated.

Provenance: Private UK collection, acquired from the private collection of Mr. R. Unger; previously with a London gallery; acquired in the 1970s on the UK art market. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
