CENTRAL ASIATIC BLACK STONE STAMP SEAL - ORIGINAL LAMBERT REPORT
Ca. 500 BC - AD 300 A Central Asiatic black stone stamp seal. This has a flat oblong face, while the back rises in three stages to a pierced handle with groove over the top. A wire loop is preserved in the hole. The design shows a standing horned animal with strokes above and behind it. Accompanied by a signed scholarly note by Professor Wilfrid George Lambert.

Provenance: Property of a London gallery; formerly with a Mayfair Art dealer S.A.; Ex. 1990s London collections, studied and catalogued by professor Lambert in the early 90s (with original note, signed by him). Previously in an old British collection formed since the 1960s.
