KHORASAN ROUND BASIN WITH KUFIC INSCRIPTION

Ca. AD 1100 - 1300 A Ghaznavid round basin with a spun-copper alloy hemispherical form. The basin is stippled and engraved with a large band of Kufic inscription. The interior centre depicts a circle of medallions adorned with inscriptions, around a central arabesque pattern.
