GANDHARAN SCHIST TORSO OF BUDDHA

Ca. AD 200 - 300 A schist stone torso of Buddha. He is depicted wearing a sanghati robe with his hair arranged into an ushnisha topknot, next to a plant. The drapery on the robe and the hair is carved with fine details. The face has a serene expression.
