BACTRIAN STONE COSMETIC VESSEL

Ca. 2000 - 1000 BC A stone cosmetic palette. The dense stone vessel has a raised rim encircling the flat decorated shoulders embellished with concentric circles and a shallow well depression in the centre where the pieces and essences were crushed, squeezed, and mixed with oil to obtain the perfumed liquid.
