REVIVAL GOLD RING WITH RED JASPER INTAGLIO OF WOLF

AD 1800 - 1900 A Roman multi-layer agate intaglio depicting a detailed standing Apollo facing right and holding his sceptre in his left hand; the design is made in a naturalistic manner typical of the beginning of the Augustan period. The gem is set in a high carat Victorian gold open work ring with a round hoop divided into three sections of gold threads depicting a twisted motif on the shoulders.
