EGYPTIAN STEATITE SCARAB IN LATER GOLD RING
New Kingdom, Ca. 1550 - 1069 BC An Egyptian middle Kingdom hand-carved steatite scarab. The scarab has frilled clypeus, sinuous legs, and bulky elytra. Inscribed on the underside is a hieroglyphic inscription. The scarab is set in a later gold ring. For similar see: MET Museum Accession Number: 22.1.367.
