EGYPTIAN NECKLACE WITH SCARAB AND FAIENCE BEADS
Late Period, Ca. 664 - 332 BC A beautiful Egyptian faience necklace with a Late Period scarab. This wearable necklace features a steatite stone scarab strung with faience beads on a later wire. The underside is engraved with a hieroglyphic inscription. Scarabs and faience beads were used extensively in ancient Egyptian burial practices, and often attached to the wrappings of a mummy, providing protection and symbolic decoration.
