VIKING GOLD RING WITH TWISTED HOOP
Ca. AD 800 - 1000 Viking gold ring with round, twisted hoop embellished with gold pellets every one-third of the hoop. This ring may have had some religious significance. Rings in a religious context were used not only to identify the position but also to aid in the execution of prayers. For example, a ring with ten beads was used for the rosary to recall the division into ten prayer sections.
