ROMAN GOLD RING WITH INTAGLIO DEPICTING A CROWNED MAN

Ca. AD 100 - 300 A Roman intaglio gold ring formed with a slender hoop and large shoulders. These shoulders are connected to a bezel with an intaglio. The intaglio depicts a male figure, who is crowned, and standing in a long tunic. His right arm rests on a stick, facing left. For similar see: El legado de Hefesto, n. 394.
Size: D:18.95mm / US: 9 / UK: R 1/2; Weight: 9g
Provenance: Property of a professional London art expert; obtained from an old British collection formed in the 1980s. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
