GROUP OF TWO FRAGMENTS OF PAPYRUS WITH DEMOTIC INSCRIPTIONS
Ca. 664 - 30 BC A group of two large papyrus fragments with Demotic inscriptions in black ink. Each piece is part of a slender scroll and displays several rows of legible Demotic realised with different types of brushes. Papyrus was the most important writing material in the Classical and Mediterranean world for centuries. It was used to replace clay tablets.
