ANCIENT BRONZE MACE HEAD
Western Asia, Ca. 1200-700 BC
A bronze tubular mace head with blunt spikes encircling the upper rim. It has collared openings on both sides and horizontal raised ridges. Bronze mace heads from this period marked an important advancement in weaponry. This mace head would have been mounted on a wooden pole.
