ROMAN GLASS FOOTED CHALICE
Ca. 300 AD
A light green glass chalice with a generous cup, short stem, and circular disk base. The lip flares slightly outwards. Roman glass chalices were emblematic of the conviviality and communal rites of the Late Roman empire and became increasingly elaborate in the 4th century through the introduction of the "cage cup" type.
