Description

Ca. 1100-1400 AD.
A bronze finger ring featuring a round hoop, and a large oval-shaped bezel, adorned with an engraved central depiction of the Star of Bethlehem. This prominent symbol is enclosed within a stylized hatched border, enhancing its visual prominence and emphasizing its symbolic significance. The Star of Bethlehem holds immense significance in Christian iconography and biblical narratives. It is associated with the Nativity story and is believed to have guided the three wise men to the birthplace of Jesus. As a celestial symbol, the Star of Bethlehem represents divine guidance, illumination, and the presence of God. Its depiction on this Crusaders era bronze ring suggests the wearer's connection to Christian faith and perhaps their affiliation with the Crusader movement.
