CRUSADERS ERA BRONZE RING WITH CROSS
Ca. 1100-1400 AD
A bronze finger ring boasting a broad hoop, featuring a flat interior and a rounded exterior surface, thereby offering both comfort and aesthetic appeal. The shoulders of the ring exhibit meticulous incisions, adding intricate details and artistic finesse to the overall design. However, it is the bezel that stands out, adorned with sculpted sides and an upper face intricately engraved with a stylized cross motif. During the Crusaders era, rings with cross motifs held deep symbolic meaning, reflecting the religious fervour and devotion of the individuals who wore them. The cross, as an emblem of Christianity, represented the faith, sacrifice, and divine protection associated with the Crusades. Such rings served as potent symbols of allegiance to the Christian cause and acted as personal statements of religious identity.
