An iconic cutlass barbary pirate short sword, mounted with an early 17th-century European blade with the markings from Italy. remounted later with a yatagan style hilt, used at the time of the Barbary War (1801-1805) with Stephen Decatur (1779-1820), best known for the February 16, 1804 action in Tripoli when as a Lieutenant with 75 sailors. Condition: Very good.
