GREEK APULIAN RED-FIGURE LEKANIS WITH PALMETTES
Ca. 340-325 BC.
A ceramic lekanis of the red-figure lid decorated with palmette designs. The lid's knob handle with radiating strokes on top. The black-glazed dish with an inset flange to receive the lid, set on a high hollow foot. This type of dish was used to store soaps and perfumes.
