CHINESE HAN DYNASTY TERRACOTTA BIRD ON BRONZE LEGS - TL TESTED
Ca. 202BC - 220AD. A lovely pottery bird standing on its stylised, well-defined bronze legs which support a globular body and elegantly slender neck terminating in a dark brown-coloured head with a cream beak and open attentive eyes. The body is decorated with blue and red plumage and a cream tail. This piece has been precisely dated having undergone Thermo Luminescence analysis by Ralf Kotalla, an independent German Laboratory. The samples collected date the piece to the period reflected in its style, whilst also showing no modern trace elements. Its TL certificate with full report will also accompany this lot.
