The title “Filius Augustorum” was briefly given to Maximinus and Constantine by Galerius after the Carnuntum conference, in an effort to placate them over their demotions to to the status of Caesar. This effort failed, and both Constantine and Maximinus continued to style themselves as Augusti. Filius Augustorum issues are very scarce, those from Alexandria particularly so.
