Description

Phoenicia, Arados. Civic issue. 2nd century B.C. AE 21 (20.52 mm, 6.88 g, 7 h). Struck 132/1 B.C. Turreted and draped bust of Tyche right, palm branch behind / Prow of galley left with Athena on figurehead; on galley, Poseidon seated left holding wreath and trident; above, Phoenecian letters (=an); beneath, Phoenecian date numerals (= yr 128 = 132/1 B.C.). SNG Copenhagen 62-7; cf. Lindgren I 2230. VF, green patina with tan highlights, off center.
