Saloninus. As Caesar, A.D. 255-259. BI antoninianus (21.1 mm, 3.61 g, 5 h). Uncertain Syrian mint, Struck A.D. 258-260. SALON VALERIANVS NOB CAES, radiate, draped and cuirassed busty of Saloninus, Caesar right, seen from behind / SPES PVBLICA, Saloninus in military garb standing facing, head right, holding short, transverse scepter and accepting flower from Spes, walking left hiking hem of chiton. RIC V 36; RSC 95. Fine, struck well centered on full-sized flan, from worn dies; gray/brown patina over typical marshy-texture metal.
