A choice Gandharan stucco head from the Indus Valley, a. 4th - 5th Century A.D. This superbly detailed sculpture is 3-7/8? high, is masterfully carved from stucco and depicts an actual individual. He is bearded, has long wavy hair along his temples and a forelock atop the balding head. The facial features are beautifully executed, including pupils in the eyes. A lovely example in exceptional condition. Mounted on stand.
