Macedonian Kingdom. Alexander III the Great. 336-323 B.C. AE half unit (16.1 mm, 3.81 g, 2 h). Struck posthumously under Philip III Arrhidaios. Uncertain mint in Asia Minor, struck 323-319 B.C. Macedonian shield decorated on boss with three-quarter head of Herakles facing slightly right; double crescents and clusters of five pellets alternating around central boss / B-A, crested Macedonian helmet; grain ear to lower left. Price 2806; SNG Alpha Bank 849; SNG Copenhagen 1132. VF, rough reverse.
