Description

Phrygia, Synnada. Pseudo-autonomous. Time of Tiberius, A.D. 14-37. 15.6 mm, 2.99 g, 6 h). Claudius Valerianus, magistrate. CYNNAΔЄΩN, eagle standing right, head left, wings spread / OYAΛЄPIANOY, owl standing right on amphora, head facing. RPC I, 3182; BMC 8 var. (legends reversed). VF, dark green patina with spots of red, slightly rough surfaces. Very Rare, seven specimens known to RPC, only two with the reversed legends.
