SICILY. Messana. 412-408 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24 mm, 17.25 g, 2 h). The nymph Messana, wearing long chiton and holding reins in both hands, driving biga of mules to left; above, Nike flying right to crown her with a wreath; in exergue, two opposed dolphins. Rev. MEΣ-Σ-A-NIO-N Hare springing to right; below, youthful head of Pan to right. Caltabiano 604 (D217/R236). SNG ANS 369 ( same dies ). Beautiful iridescent toning. Very light die wear on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.
