Greek Gold Brooch with Agate Bead
3rd century BC. A gold disc brooch comprising a flat plaque with repoussé radiating arms, cells with inset glass cabochons, central cell with banded agate cabochon; cuprous mass to the reverse. 19.57 grams, 42mm (1 1/2"). Property of a North London gentleman; previously in the private collection of Mr S.M., Mayfair, London, formed 1948-2000.
Fine condition.
