Description
Chinese Northern Wei Brick with Seated Buddha
Northern Wei Dynasty, 386-534 A.D. Rectangular with recess to the front face, carefully modelled nimbate figure of the Buddha in the half-round seated on a ledge, hands folded in the lap. 2.45 kg, 26 x 14.5 cm (10 1/4 x 5 3/4 in.).
Ex Hong Kong collection, 1970-1990s.
