Description
Western Asiatic Grey Stone Cylinder Seal with Animals
2nd millennium B.C. Irregular carved stone seal with frieze depicting a standing human figure with raised arms, two long-necked quadrupeds (bulls?) and a frond or bush; supplied with a museum-quality impression. 10.9 grams, 30 mm (1 1/8 in.).
From a Cotswold, UK, collection, item no.3; as seen and catalogued by the late Professor Wilfrid George Lambert pre 1990.
W.G. Lambert is the late Professor of Assyriology at the University of Birmingham, 1970-1993.
