European private collection, 1970-1980s. London, UK, late 1990s. The form of the ring (close to type VI, variant 1 of the Ruseva-Slokoska classification) is typical of the 3rd century A.D. The cornucopia was a symbol of goddess Fortuna. Figurines of Fortuna tend to depict the goddess holding the cornucopia in her right arm, and single cornucopia refer to the abundance and prosperity given by the goddess to the wearer of the ring.
