Description

Roman Iridescent Glass Vessel with Ribbed Neck 3rd-4th century A.D. A glass bottle composed of a squat body with D-section walls, sloping shoulder and broad, flaring neck decorated with applied trails; iridescent surfaces. Cf. Whitehouse, D., Roman Glass in The Corning Museum Of Glass, Volume 2, New York, 2003, p.122, for similar. 45 grams, 92 mm high (3 5/8 in.). Ex Dr D.G. Surrey, deceased.
